Little Seamstresses

The girls hard at work.

I just wanted to take a minute to post some pictures from our first sewing class tonight. The girls were
so wonderful at their work, and I'm so excited to see what their final projects will look like in a few weeks! Keep in touch here for more classes coming soon, or connect with me on my nutmeg facebook page here.  Here's a peek at what we did tonight:

New Sewing Dates!

Hey everyone! I'm re-posting this with the added October dates, since so many people responded quickly to the first session. There are 3 spots available in the October session. The September session just had the last spot re-open again, so let me know quickly if your daughter is interested! I'll be doing a session for adults in the wintertime as well, so keep in touch!

Crabtree Falls

Came across this little ampitheatre while I was hiking this summer. I'd forgotten about it completely, 'til I loaded the pictures from my camera today...reminded me of why I love taking pictures. Thought I'd share!

Craft Classes Beginning!

Ok, ladies...and gentlemen. An announcement I'm really excited about!!!! I've talked to a lot of folks lately about teaching sewing lessons again, particularly for their daughters. It seems like a lot of young girls out there are really excited to learn, and I'd love to help introduce some young people to the joy of sewing! I'm going to start with just one session. There are only three spaces available. So get in touch with me quickly if you're interested in signing your child up for sewing classes. I may add another session in October if it seems like a lot of girls are interested. I keep the class sizes small so I can really focus on each student, especially when there are needles involved. Here are the details!

Travels

Me and my kids are on vacation in North Carolina. It's become a summer tradition for us. Sometimes its just the three of us, other times friends or family come up to meet us and share in the beauty of the mountains. It never fails to be a much needed break from the summer heat back home. Here are a few pictures from the past few days. The lake you see is where they filmed the one and only Dirty Dancing. RIP Patrick Swayze. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Babies!

I was so, so happy last night to have the privilege of hosting a baby shower for my friends (and new neighbors!) Ashley and Matt last night. And even though it was hot as Hades outside, I don't think I've ever been a part of a more enjoyable shower. A really lovely group of people organized everything, I just had to clean my house and unlock the doors! Becca, Shonna, Christie and Tonya brought delicious food and beautiful flowers. Dave and Jim made everyone yummy drinks all night long. I don't think we had one of anything left over! My dear friend Jill decorated everything so beautifully, as you can see from the pictures. I didn't want to take it all down. I was so glad to get to know some of the folks that came by a little better, as we were all there to heap love and presents on the expectant parents. Such a wonderful way to celebrate the little boy that will be joining Matt and Ashley in about ten weeks time. Hooray for babies! More pics of the shower are on my flickr page: click here to see them!
